Village Centre Shops

Offering friendly local charm in abundance, Balsall Common’s village centre has everything you need for day-to-day essentials. Local shops include a Tesco, Co-op and Sainsbury’s, along with an independent pharmacy, newsagents, butchers and bakery. Why not stop for coffee at Costa, or if you want to sample some of the area’s finest local produce head to Oakes Farm Shop where you will find everything from freshly grown seasonal vegetables to the finest local cheeses.

Local Leisure Clubs

Keeping active in Balsall Common is easy. Within a few minutes of Albany Meadows is the Nailcote Hall Hotel with its Leisure & Country Club facilities which include a gym, swimming pool and par 3 golf course set in beautiful parkland. You could try your hand at tennis at the Berkswell & Balsall Common tennis club or why not join one of the bowling clubs located in the area. Nearby Kenilworth also offers a leisure centre, swimming pools and Kenilworth Golf Club.

Countryside walks & local history

At Albany Meadows you are ideally located to enjoy the beautiful surrounding countryside and local history. The Millennium Way walk meanders through Balsall Common on mostly flat farmland and open countryside. Take in quaint lanes, historic churches and the Grade II listed Berkswell Hall. Or for a burst of fresh air visit Lavender Hall Park. Offering over 11 hectares of grassland, plantation, old hedgerows and ponds, it’s a place for rest, relaxation and fun and has Local Nature Reserve status.

Cosy pubs and restaurants

Unwind with friends and family in one of the many cosy pubs and restaurants situated in Balsall Common. Ye Olde Saracens Head dates back to the 16th Century and has kept its charm whilst now offering a delightful gastro pub menu. Or The White Horse is another firm favourite with locals, offering a traditionally styled pub with lovely gardens and a highly-regarded Sunday lunch menu. You also have restaurants ranging from Indian to Chinese and Brasserie to Café style foods dotted around the village centre.

A little further afield

Albany Meadows is also ideally positioned if you want to experience everything that the Heart of England has to offer – scenic walks, historic towns, quaint villages and lively cities.

Historic Kenilworth is just 10-minutes by car. Solihull, Warwick, Coventry and Birmingham are all just 20 minutes away, while Birmingham Airport is within easy reach for connections to the rest of the world. Train connections from Berkswell Station, located in Balsall Common, include Coventry in 9 minutes, Birmingham in 22 minutes, Royal Leamington Spa in 26 minutes and direct links into London.

Or use the local buses connecting Albany Meadows to destinations including Balsall town centre, Kenilworth, Royal Leamington Spa, Solihull and Coventry.
